THE "GOLD RUSH" IS OVER

This past Saturday, June 13th, the “GOLD RUSH” hit the Wendover Nugget Hotel & Casino, as Gladiator Challenge debuted at the beautiful Nevada venue. Nine fights were put on for the excited crowd, and the action was well-received…

- A welterweight match-up kicked “Gold Rush” off, as Martin Candido was forced to tap out to John Crowder due to a choke at 1:47 of the 2nd round of a grappling-only match
- In a bout contested at light heavyweight, Jake Adams scored the TKO win over Kade Brown due to strikes at 0:12 of the 2nd round (AMATEUR)
- Juan Espitia took on Jordan Chandler at 140 lbs., and was able to secure the rear-naked choke win at 1:45 of the 1st round (PRO)
- After a very tough 1st round, Walon Vigil was unable to continue, giving the victory to Matt Hoskins in a lightweight fight (PRO)
- Living up to his famous last name, welter weight Jeff Shamrock defeated Joe Rivera at 2:28 of the 2nd round (AMATEUR)
- Another welterweight battle was up next, and a TKO due to strikes was the result, with Koffi Adzitso getting the win over Brad McRae at 1:57 of the 1st round (PRO)
- Fought at a catch-weight of 175 lbs., Jack Montgomery arm-barred experienced veteran Jarrett Kelton at 2:59 of the 1st round (PRO)
- In the co-main event of the night, “Coach” Chris McLeod made good on his prediction, knocking out light heavyweight Andy Medina at 1:49 of the 1st round (PRO)
- The Gladiator Challenge Welterweight belt was at stake in the main event, as Jake “The Snake” Paul scored the upset with a TKO victory due to strikes over Lee Doss at 2:56 of the 2nd round (PRO)

In his next event, Tedd Williams brings Gladiator Challenge to the 2009 Placer County Fair on June 26, 2009. Two warriors will get their chance at “Validation,” as the GC Heavyweight title will be on the line when former champ Dave Hucka ba will look to get his belt back from Rick Randolph. No fight fan will want to miss this card, as the MMA action will be hot and heavy.
