GC Vet’s Ready For War At
UFC on Fox 2
Article By GC STAFF

Gladiator Challenge veterans Chael Sonnen and “Suga” Rashad Evans
will both be competing for a number one contender spot and a shot at
the belt on January 28th at the UFC on Fox 2 card.
Chael Sonnen (26-11-1) was originally set to face another GC vet in
the ever improving Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Munoz
(12-2), but due to an injury Sonnen will now be facing Michael “The
Count” Bisping (22-3). This fight will be for the number one
contender spot and the chance to face the Champion Anderson “The
Spider” Silva (31-4). Sonnen’s looking for his revenge and Bisping’s
in the way. Sonnen beat Jason Lambert at Gladiator Challenge 20
capturing the Gladiator Challenge Light Heavyweight Belt.
“Suga” Rashad Evans (16-1-1) will be facing the undefeated phenom
(9-0) Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis. Davis is a standout wrestler from
Penn State and a DIV. I NCAA Champion. Rashad won the Gladiator
Challenge Heavyweight tournament by defeating Bryan Pardoe, Hector
Ramirez, and Jaime Jara in just two days. Evans will be coming into
this fight with a three fight win streak over Thiago Silva, Quentin
Jackson, and Tito Ortiz. The winner of this fight will capture the
number one contender spot and the chance to face the champion Jon
“Bones” Jones in the next fight. He will be looking to derail and
hand “Mr. Wonderful” the first loss of his career.
Be sure to support the GC veterans on Saturday January 28th 2012 on
FOX. They will not disappoint as these two men are some of the most
exciting fighters around. Before you saw them in the UFC you saw
them here first at the Gladiator Challenge!
