MMA-KO TALKS WITH PHIL " THE PAIN" COLLINS
After reading about Phil Collins in the
Merced Sun Star,
MMA KO wanted more. So we contacted him by phone With a
record of 4-1-0 he looks forward to proving himself on his
way to claim the vacant middleweight Cage Combat belt.
MMAKO: Since you accepted this dare that got
you into the MMA. What are people saying about you now?
COLLINS: They really have not said a lot. They just can't
believe that I'm doing it. When I first started no one
thought I would get as far as I have. Now look at me.
MMAKO: How do you prepare for a fight?
COLLINS: Dieting, a lot of training, and massages.
MMAKO: Who would you like to fight after this
match?
COLLINS: The skies the limit, it doesn't matter. Hopefully
when I win, I will not have to look for anyone. They will be
looking for me. If I lose Kenny Ento is the one I've always
wanted back. I thought I was winning then got caught in an
arm bar. So it would most likely be Kenny.
MMAKO: Where do you see yourself in another
year from now?
COLLINS: Like I always tell my wife, I'm only an ass whoopin
away from quitting every time. Laughingly saying, that was
my deal the first one to beat me up I'd quit. So I haven't
got beat up yet So I just keep on going.

MMAKO: What is your favorite fighting stlye?
COLLINS: What ever happens, that is my favorite.
MMAKO: Is there any changes you've made to
prepare for this fight?
COLLINS: I've been doing a lot more standup and getting out
of the guard.
MMAKO: What is the one thing you want people
to know about Phil Collins?
COLLINS: Heart, don't quit, and I'm better then people
think.
MMAKO: Is there anyone you would like to
thank?
COLLINS: Oakdale MMA, Ground and Pound,
Prestige Massage, Stack House, Pat Silva, and Art Arcenega.
MMAKO: Anything you would like to say in
closing?
COLLINS: Be in Santa Rosa February 17th. I'll do what
everybody thinks I'm not going to do...Win.
After speaking with Phil "The Pain" Collins and hearing the
confidence and determination in his voice, I have no doubt
he will be the next Middle Weight Champ. Thanks to Phil "The
Pain" Collins for his time.
