J.J: I’ve been wrestling doing martial arts
since I been in high school I seen the first ufc and I
always wanted to do it since I seen it the first time but I
ran into the right people at the right time I met Cal
Worsham and he was fighting at the time and I got into his
gym and started training with him and he got me my first
fight
MMA-KO: What is your favorite fighting style?
J.J: I really like jujitsu I like the grown
but jujitsu I have to say is my favorite takes a lot of
technique and a lot of skill to make it happen any body can
go in there and knock some one out with a lucky punch but it
takes a lot of skill to put a good submission off
MMA-KO: How do you prepare for a fight?
J.J: I train seven days a week usually when I
am getting ready for a fight I work my boxing I do a lot of
cardio and a lot of running I run sprints I do my boxing
everyday I hit pads with my boxing coach and then I work my
jujitsu after that I try to get and fit everything in each
day to get this thing done I just sign a contract with
Showtime
MMA-KO: What was the most powerful moment
ever in a fight?
J.J: The most exciting moment for me was when
I fought my first Showtime fight against Jeremiah Metcalf
and I knock him out on PPV you know on TV on Showtime so it
was pretty awesome
MMA-KO: Jeremiah he is from Modesto?
J.J: Yea in fact he is a good friend of mind
but you know it was the event itself you know just the big
stage it wasn't’ him it was being there and getting the
knockout on my first Showtime event
MMA-KO: Name 3 people in the fight industry
that inspire you?
J.J: I have to say training with Cal Worsham
he done a lot for me I have to say him I look up to Randy
Courture and an other one that I think is really well
rounded is Nugara
MMA-KO: Do you have any pre fight rituals?
J.J: No not to much I stretch that’s one
thing I all ways do I don’t have weird things I do
MMA-KO: So you basically do a little
stretching?
J.J: Yeah I get ready and warm up I stretch
more then anything
MMA-KO: When and where is your next fight?
J.J: I am going to be fighting Dec first over
in Thornton just outside of Sacramento its about forty five
minutes outside of Sacramento in Thornton I don’t even know
who my opponent is right now
MMA-KO: You were on the poster at one time?

they didn’t know if I was going to If I was going to be on
the card because I fought in Reno a couple of weeks ago and
they didn’t know if I was going to get hurt or what was
going to happen so they had to pull me off the card and when
I came out of the fight ok they put me back on the card
